HOME CHILD CAREGIVER

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily care and supervision for a child with autism and a disability.
- Assist with personal hygiene, dressing, diaper changes, and daily living activities as needed.
- Prepare meals and snacks and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for the child.
- Follow the child's daily schedule and established routines.
- Support the child's communication, play, and developmental activities.
- Assist the child with transitions between activities and provide patient, reassuring support.
- Transport or accompany the child to and from school, as required.
- Accompany the child to therapy sessions, medical appointments, and other scheduled activities.
- Monitor the child's safety at home and in the community.
- Communicate with the parents regarding the child's care, daily activities, and needs.
- Perform other duties directly related to the child's care.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience caring for children is an asset.
- Experience with autism or developmental disabilities are highly valued.
- Ability to follow care instructions and maintain daily routines.
- Patient, trustworthy, dependable, and attentive to safety.
- Able to perform the duties required by the position.
